There are many different types of fame associated with guilds. The most obvious one is the subject of member fame. You can acquire 10 fame for doing a guild quest within your level range (within 5 levels of yourself). Any lower than that will cut the amount of fame you receive. Doing dungeon guild quests can earn you 20 fame. You can also earn fame by using things like the Summoning Altar in town.
Then there's the fame of the guild itself, which shows it ranking compared to all of the other guilds. There are lots of ways to raise this. You can kill rare monsters and bosses within five levels of yourself. The more you kill, the better. You can also attend PVP. There's the Territory Wars, and there's the Arena. In arena, if you win, you earn 5 fame points, and if you lose, you earn 3, so even if you think you would lose, it's still worth attending arena if you can.
There's also personal fame of course, where doing these same things will also rank your character up for their race.
